I usually come to this bestbuy to shop because it’s closer to home, but today I had the worst experience ever from Mike. I had bought a handheld vacuum and the ADH geek squad protection plan when I used to work for the company. Today I tried to return it and get the same vacuum because mine got defective. He wanted to give me a store credit for what I paid for because I had gotten the employee discount on it. But I told him I don’t want store credit, I’d like a the same vacuum. He said well you have to pay the difference because you’re not an employee anymore. This is what it was said in the terms and conditions of my warranty by the way “If we determine in our sole discretion that your product cannot be repaired, we will replace it with a product of like kind and quality that is of comparable performance or reimburse you for replacement of the product with a voucher or gift card, at our discretion, equal to the current market value of the product” So I told him in the terms and conditions of the warranty you’re only allowed to exchange it for alike item or give me a gift card of the CURRENT market value of the item I’m returning. He said no he will only give me store credit for w

I visited the Best Buy in Skokie on Tuesday, July 21 around 7:30 PM to use their 15% recycling promotion on a router priced at $94.99. The coupon clearly states the discount is 15% off the “then‑current selling price,” with no minimum price requirement listed anywhere. Sale items are included. The system recognized the coupon but didn’t apply the discount, and the supervisor on duty insisted the item had to be $100 — a rule that appears nowhere in the coupon, advertising, or fine print. When I asked her to escalate the issue, she refused to contact anyone else and said the GM would email me, but no one ever followed up. I’m a Total Rewards Member (paying a higher annual fee now btw), and for what? So I can't use my benefits that I paid for because there's no willingness to honor their own promotion? This experience pushed me right back into the arms of their competitor — Amazon. Situations like this are exactly why Best Buy feels like a dying dinosaur. This experience felt more like a tug of war with the supervisor. It felt more like she needed to win the situation, instead of looking at from the customer’s perspective, and doing what’s right for the customer.

We purchased an LG TV at Best Buy in the middle of May, and Emmanuel helped us throughout the entire process. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to explain all the features and differences between the models in great detail. Thanks to his recommendations, we felt confident in our decision and ended up purchasing the perfect TV for our home. We truly appreciated his excellent customer service and professionalism. Thank you, Emmanuel, for making our shopping experience so easy and enjoyable!

I’m so glad that Best Buy is still around! I stopped in to grab some tech stuff for my parents and while I’m supposed to be the kid that knows more about electronics I had to visit the store I knew would have qualified people to answer my questions lol. They guided me to the right stuff and even helped me pull up articles and videos so that I could share with my parents. I saw they have some Beauty gadgets also which I feel like I trust more than going to Amazon. It was a very easy and pleasant experience.

Thank you Gabe! - 5 Stars are for you. BestBuy gets 1 Star. I stopped by Best Buy about 45 minutes before closing to pick up an item. The store was clearly winding down for the night, and unfortunately, it seemed very understaffed. I waited in one particular department for around 15 minutes trying to get assistance. I flagged down a few associates, and while they did use the PA system to call for someone from the department, nobody ever showed up. What saved the experience was Gabe at the register. He was friendly, professional, and actually took the initiative to help. He located the item for me and found someone to bring it up. In a situation where customer service was otherwise lacking, Gabe stood out as someone who genuinely cared about helping customers. Thank you, Gabe — you deserve a raise. Ironically, after getting home, I tried to leave positive feedback for him using the survey link on the receipt, but it only redirected me to download the app. The website experience was even worse — instead of letting me review my visit, it prompted me to review a product I bought two years ago. I eventually contacted support, fought through the chatbot, and finally reached a “human”
